One year ago this month, we announced the launch of INDEAL Cares; a charitable organization with a mission to support healthy workplace communities in the commercial furniture industry in North America and in under-served communities around the world.
At that time, our hope was that INDEAL Cares would provide a way for the industry to demonstrate a unified compassion, while strengthening workplace communities and offering vital support to those who need it most.
I am pleased to share that we are making incredible progress.
With the support of many who are working with us to support our effort, INDEAL Cares is a community of individuals who believe in the power of philanthropy, and the impact of inspiring healthy lives at work.
Through relationships with healthcare leaders, charitable partners, and industry experts, over the last year we have developed customized resources and actionable tools to support and unite the industry in four pillars of health.
This includes the development of our Living Well Library, providing resources and actionable tools for individuals on their journey to health and wellness, our Living Well at Work Guide Module 1, providing best practices for leaders who want to get a wellness program started, and Module 2, providing guidance on how to develop an organization-wide mental health strategy.
These resources were driven from the results of the first annual INDEAL Cares Employee Wellness Survey, Working in a Changed World: Understanding Health and Well-being in the Commercial Furniture Industry, which highlighted the increased need for health and wellness support for our community, one that has been through an enormous amount of turbulence over the past year.
Last year’s survey confirmed what we suspected: people in our industry need support now, more than ever. The pandemic has fundamentally altered the way we live and work – and businesses have been challenged to adapt. Our community is at the heart of these changes.
With a strong network of support, and a resolve to provide the tools, resources and health and wellness leadership that our industry needs, now, more than ever, I am asking you to provide your input again.
