The importance of a global approach to well being in the workplace

INDEAL Cares was established in 2020 with a clear vision: to revolutionize the health and well being of employees in North America - and globally - through a commitment to workplace wellness.

Our story is inspired by Dr. Shannon Bloch; a champion of holistic health, who dedicated her life to the care and well-being of individuals all over the world. Dr. Bloch was passionate about providing exceptional care to her patients, and believed in the empowering force of education, awareness, and evidence-based patient-centred care. Shannon believed in the importance of a global approach to well being.

In 2018, Shannon moved to Botswana to provide spine care to patients in under-served communities. Her experience working as a clinician in a foreign country was eye-opening. “Almost every patient, whether they spoke English or Setswana, was grateful that we were there to help and more importantly, that we were there to listen. Often these patients were referred from doctor to doctor with no one taking the time to give them an answer, or any kind of treatment. Patients came in with almost every condition you can imagine, many I had read about in textbooks and never thought I would see in real life.”

Health is multi-faceted and complex. We know that there are a number of elements that support wellbeing in the workplace; Active Living, Disease Prevention, Mental Health and Spine Health.

Understanding the importance of an individual’s’ wellbeing, and how that impacts our global community as a whole, is at the heart of INDEAL Cares’ vision to revolutionize the health and well being of employees in North America - and globally - through a commitment to workplace wellness and holistic health. INDEAL is a supporter and champion of healthy workplaces for the commercial furniture industry at large.
